About Me
My name is Jake Tokayer
I have been leading kosher tours in Japan since 2018, inspired by my grandfather, Rabbi Marvin Tokayer—the former Chief Rabbi of the Far East and a world-renowned authority on Jewish history in Asia. My journey began when he brought me along on one of his tours through China and Japan, exploring ancient and modern Jewish historical sites. Captivated by Japan’s culture and history, I soon launched my own tour company, offering experiences from kosher backpacking adventures to luxury private tours. Today, in addition to leading tours, I also consult for travel companies and individuals looking to plan unforgettable trips to Japan.

For the last 12 years, I have worked and volunteered in many medical-related settings in the hopes of attending medical school. This included starting a research company that focused on gene coding, editing, and bacterial transformations. I also shadowed physicians in the Boca Raton Baptist Hospital Emergency Dept, worked in multiple medical offices, and interned in a summer camp infirmary. Additionally, I volunteered as an EMT in the Miami Fire Department Special Operations Venom One, a unit that treats snake bites both on-site and in the hospital.

In 2018 I drafted as a lone soldier in the Israeli Defence Forces as a tank driver, and during the current war, as infantry in the West Bank. I served in the North along the Syrian and Lebanese Borders.

Since 2015, I worked as a logistics manager in Camp Stone, a summer camp in Pennsylvania. Currently, I spend the summer season in Stone in an administrative role.

Currently, I run my tours full-time, always looking for new and exciting experiences to offer guests in Japan.
